MVP Basketball at a Glance

  • Focus is on FUN, age-appropriate basketball FUNDAMENTALS, and lots of PLAYING TIME for all!

 

  • Co-Ed* League for kids K through 3rd Grade

*Note we will do our best to provide girls-only teams/leagues as numbers allow. If you are interested in joining an all-girls team please note this in the comments box during registration.

 

  • Grade Divisions: K, 1, 2/3 (Co-Ed), 2/3 (All-Girls)

 

  • Open to All: MVP Youth Sports welcomes kids from any district or community—Public, Private, Charter, and Home School.

 

  • Weekly Format: 30‑minute practice followed by a 45 minute game.

 

  • Athlete Perks: Weekly sports trading card, plus an MVP T‑shirt and medal at season’s end.

 

  • Equipment: No personal equipment needed. Reversible jerseys, wristbands, and basketballs are provided.

 

  • Footwear & Safety: Non-marking athletic shoes required.

 

  • Jerseys: MVP reversible jerseys are yours to be worn all season, and returned at season’s end in exchange for an MVP T‑shirt and medal.

 

  • Requests: Friend and coach requests are honored when possible until teams reach capacity. Add requests in the registration comment box.

MVP FALL BASKETBALL

Dates: Sunday November 8 – Sunday December 13

*We do not play Thanksgiving weekend, November 29

Practices and games take place on Sundays between 11:30am – 5:15pm

 

Registration Fee: $149* for the 5-week session

 

Location: Bridgeport Elementary School 5505 SW Borland Rd, Tualatin, OR 97062

MVP WINTER BASKETBALL

Dates: Sunday January 24 – Sunday February 28

*Sessions start 2 hours early on Super Bowl Sunday, February 14th 

 

Practices and games take place on Sundays between 11:15am – 5:00pm

 

Registration Fee: $179* for the 6-week session

SPRING BASKETBALL COMING IN APRIL •

Details

Program Overview

Grade Divisions: K, 1, 2/3 (Co-Ed), 2/3 (All-Girls)

Open to Everyone: MVP Youth Sports welcomes all kids—Public, Private, Charter, and Home School—from any district or community.


Weekly Schedule

Practice + Game: Each week includes a 30‑minute practice immediately followed by a 45-minute game.


Athlete Gear & Perks

  • Included: Weekly sports trading card, MVP reversible jersey, game wristbands, basketballs.

  • End‑of‑Season: MVP T‑shirt and medal (jerseys are returned at season’s end).

  • No personal equipment required.


Footwear

  • Required: Non-marking athletic shoes


Hoop Height

  • 8‑Foot Hoops for all practices and games.

  • Coaches may raise hoops to 9 feet for 2nd–3rd grade teams if agreed upon.

 

Game Format

  • 4‑on‑4 for teams of 8 athletes

  • 5‑on‑5 for teams of 10 athletes

  • Rotation system to allow equal playing time and ball touches.

 

Ball Sizes

  • Size 3 for Kindergarten

  • Size 5 for 1st–3rd Grade

 

Court Setup

  • Two games/practices at once in the gym

  • Athletes play width‑wise across the court rather than full‑court

 

Team Requests

MVP honors friend and coach requests whenever possible until teams reach capacity. Add your request in the comment box during registration.

To view your child’s team schedule and roster information, login to your LeagueApps account or use the LeagueApps Play app. Information will be available approximately 10 days prior to the start of the season.

Weather Information: For MVP Youth Basketball, we are required to adhere to the Tigard-Tualatin School District policy with regards to gym closures due to inclement weather. If we have to cancel or postpone basketball due to severe weather, we will notify all families by email. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to make up a missed practice or game but we will try our best to extend the season if the gyms are available for continued use.

 

Refund Policy: Full refunds will be given if registration is canceled prior to the start of the season. There is a $10.00 merchant account fee deducted from the refund.
